New Covid-19 rules-  March 6th, 2021
The club’s board met Sunday, March 6th, 2021 and voted to end the requirement to wear a mask in the clubhouse and on the courts.  This is consistent with the Town of Acton’s decision to end mask requirements
Notice:
"
We are not accepting any new indoor memberships at this time since the indoor courts are fully booked.  If you are interested in indoor membership, please fill out a wait list form found in the documents tab.  Summer membership is open as usual Thank you.”

Mission Statement

The Acton Indoor Tennis Club is one of a small number of non‐profit tennis clubs in Massachusetts and the United States. As a primarily volunteer‐based organization, it is dedicated to the promotion of affordable life‐long tennis. All revenues received are invested back into the club. The club relies on its membership to contribute to the club and requires a basic commitment of time and talents by ALL members to maintain and improve the club. As a non‐profit, the club also depends on its membership to recommend new members and grow the club as needed.

New Indoor Courts
Our resurfacing project was recently completed in September 2019, just in time for indoor season. You will find a more comfortable surface with truer bounces on the indoor courts. Thanks to the support and patience of our membership during this process.

More Construction! - Slab, outdoor and indoor lights-
The work on the slab for the new shed is nearly done.  Concrete will likely be poured later this week and the truck and equipment traffic for this project should end soon.  However, a new project is starting up.  An electrical contractor will (finally!) start work on replacing and upgrading the outdoor lights.  They are finishing up another project and expect to start our project next Wednesday, September 8.  The work should last about a week or 10 days.  We have set aside Court A for three days and then Court B for five days for the project.  The other three courts will be available for play while the work goes on, but Courts C and D will have the least disruption from the work.  Depending on how the work proceeds we may need to switch reservations from Court A to Court B or vice versa.  Please be mindful of this work, which will be mostly overhead, and take care to avoid the work area while work is ongoing.
We are also making progress on replacing the indoor lights and appear to have a solution to have those in place before the indoor season starts.  The vendor has agreed to replace the indoor lights, which have proven unreliable, at no cost to the club.  They are dealing with some supply chain issues, but seem to have those fixed.

Note on Guests
You are welcome to invite guests to join you on the clay courts or indoor courts.  The club policy is that members can invite as many guests as they like but that very regular or frequent guests should be encouraged to join the club.  Regardless, guests should be properly recorded and the guest fee of $8 should be paid for each guest.  You can record guests in any of three ways:  1) include your guest in your on-line reservation; 2) record guests in the handwritten sign-up sheet in the clubhouse; or 3) send an email to actonindoortennis@gmail.com.  The first method is only available prior to play, but the second and third methods are always available.  Failure to record guests is considered a serious violation of club rules and could jeopardize your continued membership
